Welcome to Thailand
Get to know a bit of Thailand ( Siam) Land Of Smile Thailand, officially known as the Kingdom of Thailand, is the 50th largest country in the world, with a total area of 513,120 square kilometers. Located in the heart of Southeast Asia, Thailand is bordered by the Andaman Sea to the west and the Gulf of Thailand to the southeast. The country shares its eastern borders with Laos and Cambodia, its southern border with Malaysia, and its northern and western borders with Myanmar. In some areas, the Mekong River forms a natural boundary with Laos. The capital city, Bangkok, is the largest city in the country and serves as the political, economic, and cultural center. With a population exceeding 10 million residents, Bangkok is known for its vibrant urban life and historical landmarks. Other major cities include Chiang Mai in the north, known for its cultural heritage; Nakhon Ratchasima (Korat) in central Thailand, a key hub for trade and agriculture; and Rayong in the eastern region, an industrial and tourist center. Popular tourist destinations such as Phuket in the south, Pattaya on the eastern coast, and the historic city of Ayutthaya also attract millions of visitors annually. Thailand has a tropical climate characterized by high temperatures and humidity throughout the year. The climate can be divided into three main seasons: Summer (February to April): This is the hottest time of the year, with temperatures often exceeding 40°C in some regions. Rainy Season (May to October): Influenced by the southwest monsoon from the South China Sea, this season brings heavy rainfall and occasional tropical cyclones. Cool Season (November to February): This period is cooler and less humid, especially in the northern and northeastern regions. In southern Thailand, the climate resembles a rainforest, remaining hot and humid year-round. This region has only two seasons: rainy and hot. On the east coast, the hot season occurs from May to September, while on the west coast, it spans November to April. Thailand is rich in natural biodiversity, supporting a wide variety of plant and animal species. This diversity forms the backbone of its agricultural industry. The country is also well-known for its tropical fruits, including durian, mango, and pineapple, which are enjoyed locally and exported globally.
